Way back before the COVID level 4 lock-down I had a video camera with Advanced Computers for repairs. On collect it I found out that they also build computers. So some months later, having emailed Karen Zhang, I popped in and we spoke of what I would want, including extra cards and transfers for my video work. Karen gave me an excellent quote. I felt she gave me an wonderful time frame to complete the job. The project involved several visits for discussions and Karen ALWAYS had a wonderful smile Their service was 'Five Star', and have already passed on their name to fellow videographers. I would highly recommend them. I am having a few issues with another computer and Karen will be hearing from me again. ~ Trev' B

A while ago I had issues with my external hard drive. I had very important content on this drive. The guy at reception was very professional when I called and asked for a quote. I took the broken drive in together with a new one. I met David at reception, who were very helpful and understanding of the importance of the data I needed to retrieve. Not long after I left I got an email update with the final quote and it was good news. They were able to retrieve the data. The service was great, quick and I am very happy. Advanced Computers has also helped me in the past with my mac so I am a happy return customer. I can recommend them for any computer repairs. I've used Advanced Computers in Rosedale twice and the team there has been fantastic. First time was for water damage to a laptop and many years later the second time was for my laptop display failing; they were thorough in their diagnostics and communication which I greatly appreciate. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing repair work. Update: The above review was in early 2025. As of writing this update, it is November 2025 and I wish I could give a second review, which would be another 5/5 stars: My main desktop failed and the team at Rosedale were able to correctly diagnose what hardware had failed and Karen helped me decide what replacement part options would suit best going forward. Zero hesitation to contact Advanced Computers Rosedale for their services, I will be using them for all my upgrade parts in the future. ~ Mark C

Awesome company with awesome people and great services! They keep their promises and complete the repair as promised withing the time frame. The initial inspection fee will be deducted from the repair cost. Fast turn around services also available and an expected and increased costs. Reliable and professional, can be totally trusted to get the job done. Don't go to those one man bands operate from residential houses or in the middle of the shopping mall Isle. I had a 10yrs old Laptop where by the hard drive has failed. It is now working and with latest OS installed too. Parking spaces in front and handy location to visit. I brought my Toshiba laptop because of it's keyboard lagging problem. I was worried that it won't get fixed in time and i had to pay hundred's of dollars if ever my laptop's whole keyboard need to be replaced, told them that i need to have it repaired within the week because i'm going out of the country next week. They said they'll let me know if they can have it done within the week and surprisingly after a few hours i got a call from them saying my laptop's keyboard is all good and ready to be picked up :-). I was very impressed with the excellent service I received from Advanced Computers Penrose Branch. I had installed about two and a half years ago from a company that I obviously wont name, EZView security system with five cameras. It kept going off line all the time, and I was continually calling them to come and fix the problem. I decided to change from the company that installed it, and couldn't seem to get it stabilized to stay online, to Advanced Computers Penrose. I looked up on GOOGLE to find out who serviced EZView and that is how I came to contact them. Throughout the afternoon I spoke with William, Nancy and Melissa who were all excellent. I rang on the Monday afternoon, and Tuesday morning, their technician Steven came to my home, and after accessing the problems he found, virtually reinstalled it. We were looking for an Apple computer technician and Joon at Advanced computers was 'THE MAN'. We were having a number of issues including 'Conflicting' wifi issues, all emails were lost from Outlook for Mac 2011 because of iCloud. In this instance Microsoft were of no assistance with this and told us they were not recoverable! One iMac computer running extremely slow. All these issues were resolved by Joon, a technician at Advanced Computers. If you want somewhere to get your Apple Mac tech issues solved professionally and promptly then I highly recommend bringing your troubles to Advanced Computers. ~ Rob B

I have had the opportunity to experience the professional services from Advanced Computers Wairau Park Branch. From a Macbook Pro, two to be exact, to an iPhone 6a, the staff at this company could not have been more helpful. Outstanding service! They fixed my iPod Classic, which is so hard to source parts for in NZ, and they also replaced the camera lens on my husband’s ASUS ROG 8 Pro. Both are super rare devices to get serviced here, but they handled them with no issues at all. Great communication throughout. They set clear expectations, walked me through the whole process, and inspected everything first so we knew exactly what the issues were and how long it would take. Have waited about 5 weeks since my laptop fix to be sure that the problem did not recur. Advanced Computers [Rosedale] were listed as an HP warranty agent and after a couple of days waiting for any kind of response from HP NZ - I decided just to go straight to them. Karen nailed the problem very quickly as a corrupt MS update - when I had already suspected that it was hardware issue. know this Apple repair shop from a reddit recommendation and had a great experience here. brought my macbook pro M1 for repair after it started shutting down randomly. They quickly identified the issue, and walked me through the fixing options. 2 days later they completed the repair ahead of schedule and my macbook now runs like new. highly recommend this shop for any Mac devices repair because they have Apple certified technicians. HI all, had my laptop let me down in the middle of a client engagement. Dropped it off to Karen's team (have used them before) around 2:00 and was able to have full diagnostic and repair completed same day before 5:00pm. Small premium for same day urgency was well worth it. The team are highly capable, efficient in all areas, thorough and have done a great job. Has to seek them out as they have moved to Triton Drive (from Link Drive), but well worth it. ~ Mark D

Visited the Rosedale branch to resolve my Mac book problem. The lady (I think her name is Irene) at the reception is very helpful and informative and she knows their service option and price by heart! Got out there within 5mins! And the follow up repairing plan and price in the email is so clear. Irene even follow up with a phone call to remind me to check email as it is a Friday and she knows I need my computer within same day. Very responsive and thoughtful service. My PC and laptop were recently serviced by the Rosedale business. The first time with the PC was as a result of a house move and I had internet problems. Advanced Computers got the PC up and running with some good advice concerning the HDMI cable. On the 2nd occasion my laptop had locked up and I had been unable to get it to start. I have an older Mac and was feeling quite perplexed about the potential cost of reviving an old Mac. I went to Advanced Computers and they showed a real empathy to my concerns. I first talked to Karen over the phone who made me feel comfortable about getting the machine assessed. When I got to their premises David greeted me on a very personal level, even actually listening to my response when asked how my day was going. After the machine had been assessed David was very clear about my options and made me feel confident that the choice I was making was the correct one. I received the computer back in a very reasonable time frame and at a reasonable cost. A few days later David took the time to follow up on how the machine was working and signed off with a comment regarding my response about the day I was having when I first met him. Perhaps this all sounds corny but to be treated with a bit of care and compassion is so rare these days. Truly exceptional service! Called in the morning and Ralf arrived right after work, he was truly professional and very knowledgeable. My problem was fixed within twenty 45 minutes. I tried Claude, Grok etc and nothing worked. There are some things best left to professionals! Also, the lady who answered the call immediately understood the urgency and actioned my request! I used Advanced Computers North Shore recently as got my iPhone wet during a fishing trip. I paid extra for the 1 hour service so I could get my report quickly. I received my diagnosis with a breakdown of the costs etc. I went ahead and got it repaired and it has been working perfectly since. The service was very good - the communication was excellent and the phone was repaired super quick. I would recommend this company to others. ~ Paul Y

I'm so happy with Advanced Computers. They found the problem and fixed it all within a 3 hour window. I had the computer at another fixer in Milford. They took all week to finally tell me my computer needed replacing and that would have been a very expensive exercise given it was the battery that was faulty!!! I had my iPhone screen recently fixed at advanced computers. What a great experience dealing with the staff at advanced computers , Wairau branch. The lady on reception was very informing about the process and pricing of this service. My phone is now like it has never been broken and the screen is complety fixed and has no issues. My I mac 27 was running extremely slow Karen indicated that the hard drive was faulty with in 2 hours I received a full breakdown for parts and labour. Because my old drive was in bad shape the transfer data took a long time no extra charge. I now have the computer back and is running beautifully. I emailed about 15 other retailers and repair places to try to get my Kindle screen fixed. ALL of them told me it wasn't possible because the model was too old and it wasn't worth it. Finally I found these people and they fixed it in THREE DAYS. So much stress to have such a fast fix!!! Over the moon to finally have my Kindle back with a fresh screen. Excellent service from the personable, friendly and efficient Riley, the two other ladies at the counter to the data saving and restoring of the OS carried out promptly by Eric who also took time to explain and show the steps I needed to take. This was the best service. As a student, my priority was fast service and this team delivered! When my laptop decided to break on Tuesday - I had it fixed perfectly by Thursday. The price was not cheap for what I needed repaired (Macbook screen) but when compared to other similar service providers, it was around $300 cheaper! Which is amazing.
